Well its that time of year again… crawling out of bed before the crack of the dawn, bracing the Canberra chill to attend the dawn service.

This year I’m not interested in battling crowds to find a car park and wanted to find out the best club to go do for the Dawn Service. Many clubs and pubs these days offer a bus trip out to the dawn service and then breakfast back at the club for a small fee…

Can anyone recommend their local club who is offering this service ??

Everybody has their individual favourite places they go on ANZAC day. In true military tradition, I and most of the parade tend to go to the nearest pub to the AWM, for varying reasons of either poor health, comradeship, convenient meeting places, or just simply the nearest pub, which is Olims.

From there, usually a semi-rapid dispersal occurs to the other various pubs and clubs about town as the groups meet up, have a beer, and move on to their favourite place.

As for finding a car park – good luck. Everything is going to remain roped off from the Chinese circus on Kapyong Day. Parking which is usually at a premium will turn platinum pretty quickly.

They just said during the Rove adbreak that the Tradies Dickson is doing the bus thing.
