I’ve had the following note in from Graeme at www.acastofthousands.com.au.

I am casting a new television series for the 7 network and I am looking for 16-17 year olds to take part. I am looking for people who don’t get on with their parents, are maybe up to a bit of no good and are not enjoying school.

We are sending selected applicants for a 10 day trip with a strict family in another country. We will be documenting this and hoping that the people going will gain an appreciation for their own parents whilst seeing how other families operate in other parts of the world.

    Applications can be downloaded online.

They’re particularly keen to get Canberra kids involved, so be you parent or child this could be your big chance to grab 15 minutes of fame.

how do they know that it’s in fact the child being the cause of the problem as opposed to the parents?

Yes, you have to wonder about their agenda a bit given that people are deceitfully lured on to chat shows all the time to be told live on air in that their husband is secretly married to their best friend’s mother

“We will be documenting this and hoping that the people going will gain an appreciation for their own parents…”

Yeah right. They’ll be documenting alright but but hoping for maximum carnage and maximum ‘tut tut’ factor.

I know why they make these shows -many people watch them, but do why do people (or their parents) put their idiocy on display like this?

You can but ask.

Will they take my 15yo? He’s 16 in May.

Do they have to send him back?

Send them to Baghdad and see how long they survive there when they carry on like spoilt little tossers.

*smack* ! 😀

This show better not clash with Ladette to Lady or I will be mighty pissed off!

Sounds like quality viewing – taking kids from parents who don’t control them properly and putting them with a family who will!

Can’t wait to hear the kids yelling “you can’t tell me what to do…”
