Stashed away in the Public Notics of today’s CT is a warning that the ADF will be conducting ‘training’ at an office complex on the ‘north side of Canberra’ on 20 June.

It warns of ‘little impact on residents and office workers’ but that ‘soldiers will be armed and use simulated explosives and ammunition’.

Apparently those in the immediate vicinity have already been warned, so where is it? I wanna watch.

I saw it. Nothing much to see though, just soldiers in their gear with rifles shooting off rounds. THe only excitement cam when one soldier tried to take his tank over the median. I have a pic of it here: http://sabbah.biz/mt/wp-content/merkava.jpg 🙂

Well I had to go to Phillip, but did anyone see it?

Yeh Thumper i agree, i do think tanks are cool 😉

Al, I’m pretty sure it won’t be GC.

North Canberra is a pretty big area.. and they mention both residential, and an office complex..

or old workers club near ANU

I would vote Anzac park East or the old AIATSIS* building complex across the road from the Lakeside.

*whats left of it.

Sounds cool. I just watched Black Hawk Down yesterday and it opened my eyes to the need of training like this for the country’s best soldiers.

I wonder if the Paintball clan could also obtain permission for this type of simulated mission?
