firefighting tower over dickson

This afternoon’s lunch crowd in Dickson was treated to the sight of towering fire fighting appliances, forensic examinations, and lots of crime scene tape.

Word on the street is that there was a truck torched before midnight out the back of Woolley St before midnight, and then in the early hours of the morning the bins out the back of the Cape St Centre were lit up leading to wide spread damage.

How Inner Northicans adjust to the lack of the Phu Quoc restaurant is a subject on ongoing examination.

If you are missing your Phu Quoc fix, you can go to My’s Restaurant in Weston Creek. The chef there was previously chef/part-owner of Phu Quoc Restaurant.

I swear I remember Pho Phu Quoc previously being closed in the last couple of years because of a fire? No?

No, a car ran into the front windows of the restaurant.

There was a fire in the Asian grocery store next to it a while back and there was some damage to the restaurant.

They haven’t had much luck aye?

It’s Pho Phu Quoc, btw.

End-of-school boredom setting in early this year?

That must of been why I saw the ladder truck “fly” (I kept up with it the whole way-doing the speed limit) up Wentworth Ave/Kings Ave/Parkes Way this afternoon around 15:00ish.

“If this happened at midnight, why was the crane still there during daylight, it doesnt look like the buildings are high enough to require a crane for a long time to fight it.”

I don’t know dvaey – perhaps the Fire Brigade know a bit more about fire fighting and fire investigation than you do and there was a good reason for the crane to still be there. Either that or they went home after putting the fire out and forgot to put their toys away….

d’oh! not pho quoc! was the little liquor store next door cindered too? what a tragedy for cuisine – looks like tak kee gets ever more of my hitherto shared business…

… But no cockroaches burnt to a crisp in the local Dominos were further harmed. Still can’t get that image out of my head. Help!
