I was going to rabbit on here about all of the things going on during the Radiothon, but the poster pretty much says it all.

Tune in and turn up on Sunday 30 November for the open day — lots of music of all genres, including a bit of gritty urban Canberra folk.

Open Day from 10am Sunday 30 November at Artsound FM, Manuka Arts Precinct, Cnr Manuka Circle and NSW Crescent.

UPDATE: Overheard informs us that the schedule for the festivities goes as follows:

10.30am DJ Gosper and friends playing blues
    12.00md Glen Terry playing blues
    01.00pm Marie LeBrun Jazz Band
02.00pm Alma Latina — Latin American Choir
    03.00pm Mr Matty Ellis

Fave pics – #8 the Chinese dudes and #10 Glen Terry’s guitar.

Oh, and #22 Bill from Z4 wines, of course!

*chuckle*

Oh, and Bill from #7!!

: )

That’s fantastic. I was off pursuing my children’s book habit when bloodnut started playing …. I got like a gazillion books for $7.50 – a lot of my childhood favourites, too. Then I heard the singing and I raced outside.

I must say I enjoyed the whole day. Felt so lazy afterwards and not a bit like going to the gym, but it did seem to really fast-track the alcohol out of my system. I wonder if it does?

I’m going to listen to my free, autographed Glenn Terry CD now …. He was such a great guy!

: )

Great to see you and your daughter there today, Granny. Nice to see and hear blood nut close out the live entertainment. And by day’s end we had over $36,000 in the kitty, so a LOT of hard work by many was very worth while.

That Marie Le Brun could make me fall in love with jazz ….

: )

Cool, Granny. Weather’s cleared up so hopefully we’ll get a crowd.

I’m onto it, my friend! Hopefully will be there with my lovely daughter. I’ll really try hard to be there on time so I don’t miss DJ Gosper – gorgeous singer!!

Should be a great day!!

See you tomorrow!

: )

Granny, I never got back to you with the line-up for the Open Day on Sunday, and I only saw the list about two hours ago.

10.30am DJ Gosper and friends playing blues
12.00md Glen Terry playing blues
01.00pm Marie LeBrun Jazz Band
02.00pm Alma Latina — Latin American Choir
03.00pm Mr Matty Ellis

Plus Tony McGee and Sally Greenaway will be featured at various times during the day, playing the piano (that we scored as a result of last year’s Radiothon fund-raising) in the recording studio.

I have scant details, but good authority that Glen Terry (a local artist) has been nominated for a prestigious blues award and that he and DJ will be doing something of a jam, so it would pay you to be here for kick-off at 10.30am.

Hope to see you there.
(Forecast for Sunday: Fine. Mostly sunny with moderate to fresh westerly winds.
Precis: Fine, mostly sunny, City: Min 10 Max 23, Chance of rainfall: 10%.)

He’d better git over that thar flu then ….

: )

Why yay-us, I DID say ‘live bands’!

And after I’ve been to my radiothon training tomorrow evening, I’ll tell you more, Granny.

But I believe, in fact I heard on the jungle drums, and I saw him several times out at Majors Creek on the weekend but totally forgot to confirm with him, that Mr Blood Nut will be playing live to air on 30 Nov.

I could be wrong.

Did you say live bands and Australian wine?! Which bands?

Yikes! A little tough for the hard of seeing.

“Artsound FM is Canberra’s premier music and arts station featuring a great mix of Jazz, Blues, Folk, World and Classical music.

This year we are celebrating 25 years in broadcasting.

Join us for our fabulous book and music fair and open day. 20 Nov at the Manuka Arts Centre.

Kick back and listen to great live bands playing from 10am – 4pm. Try some Australian wines and enjoy a good old-fashioned BBQ. Stroll through the Huw Davis Gallery at PhotoAccess and view Holly and Valentine Schulte’s exhibition ‘RESIDUE’. The Exhibition opens 30 Nov at 2pm.”
