As Nature Intended, the happy, hippy, organic cafe and wholefoods shop, is on the move.

After 19 years nestled in the heart of the Belconnen Fresh Food Markets in the Piazza square near the Giant Mushroom Playground, the popular community oasis is moving to Dairy Road, Fyshwick mid-August.

The final day of trading at the markets is happening this weekend with the doors closing for the final time at this location on Sunday 28th July. They intend to leave Belconnen in style with a celebration planned on Saturday 27th July.

From 11 am shoppers past and present are invited to enjoy one last coffee, mulled wine, some delicious tastings from the store and entertainment.

Owner Beata Wilder said the cafe’s lease has ended to make way for redevelopment plans at the market and she feels both excited about the move and sad to say goodbye.

“We know many of our customers by name, which might be why the cafe has such a warm, friendly feel. We’d love to thank everyone who has supported us over the years and hope to see you at our new home.

“It’s been an amazing journey.”

As Nature Intended will still offer excellent coffee, fresh juices and smoothies, organic food, fruit and vegetables, different dairy-free kinds of milk and gluten-free options, as well as earth-friendly groceries once it opens in its new Fyshwick location in mid-August.

Fresh Organic Fruit and Vegetables will be part of the offer at the new location

More fermented items will be on the new menu.

“I’m happy that I’ll soon be introducing people at Dairy Road to our beautiful food. We cater for vegans, vegetarians and meat lovers, plus we’ll be including even more fermented items on the menu, such as raw sauerkraut, juices and a new hot tea with probiotics,” said Beata.

The philosophy at As Nature Intended is to create a welcoming, inclusive space, to foster a connection to community and build relationships, all while caring for the planet. Beata said nothing will change but the location.

“It’s a unique and personal business, and everything we do is part of a conscious lifestyle, with a focus on healthy, organic food, reducing waste and recycling,” she said.

“We are excited to extend our community and to be able to recreate our shop in a fantastic space surrounded by stunning wetlands.

“It’s the next chapter in our story. We promise our new home will be just as rustic, even funkier, more organic, with more books piled high on the tables, more crocheted blankets, more plants outside, more good vibes, more healthy food and everything is done with even more love!”

Visit As Nature Intended for the last time at Belconnen Fresh Food Markets this weekend at 40a Lathlain Street, Belconnen.
