Sadly, this tradition will be stifled out by the Territory’s mission to become 90% dependant on electricity generated by anything else but fossil fuels.
Wind generated electrcity from interstate will cost about $77 per MWH so we won’t be able to afford it.
Canberrans will be asking the question “What did we have before candles?”
The answer of course will be “electricity”.

Zox circuit in Calwell has about 1/2 a dozen lit up houses. There are a couple of streets in Gordon that go all out every year as well.

I saw a house on Currong St Sth that had a light display of Griswald’s level proportions. Near the Anzac end.
