They’re just over the border and I when I got my female BC desexed they were half the price of anywhere else quoted.

You could try Weston Woden Animal Hospital. They are always very competitively priced and Ivan is a super caring veterinarian.

Like almost everything else in Canberra, the cost is what the market will bare. Unfortunately, it seems that Canberra consumers can bare these sorts of costs.

Had a similar experience with my dog – much cheaper for surgery in Sydney but I could not avail myself of that because regular follow ups were necessary which would have entailed trips back to Sydney.

When my mutt did his ACL, the vet gave me 3 options. The first was what you’ve been quoted; the second choice was an el-cheapo reconstruction with some fishing line; and the third was to just leave it. I took the third option, and he happily saw out his days with a limp and no trauma or cost of surgery. Are you sure it must be done?

We were told Sydney was much cheaper for ACL fix in dogs. Could be an option for you.
