Ask RiotACT

Hi All.

Just wondering if there are any commercial kitchens out there looking to hire out their facilities during off peak times (say evenings and some Saturday’s)?

I’ve contacted a few community centres but they don’t hire out kitchens, they only do halls etc.

I know about HomeGrownMe and the Multicultural Centre run by the ACT ($100per hour), but also looking for some cheaper alternatives.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Pilgrim House in Civic has a commercial kitchen.

Try the Spanish Australian Club in Narrabundah. They have a good sized kitchen which to my knowledge is never used these days.

Hi a possibility could be the community centre in Lanyon. email mlycc.manager@ywca-canberra.org.au to find out more information.

What about a school? The school I teach at runs Hospitality and has an amazing commercial kitchen. We hire the hall so it could be a possibility to hire or the kitchen space as well

Might be a long shot but worth a try (unless it’s one of the community centres you’ve tried); Queanbeyan Council has a few facilities with commercial kitchens attached, might be worth asking if you could come to some kind of arrangement? You’d need to speak with the community businesses manager, Daniel.
