I am moving houses after a long time (from Tuggers to South Canberra). Any ideas or recommendations where to get boxes? Thanks!

Ask large department stores or supermarkets.

Part of the grand exodus?

There’s also a little-known recycling centre in Belconnen behind Bing Lee. Big cage full of boxes like at Phillip or Mitchell.

Recycling centres are the best way to get boxes for free, there’s one in the middle of Mitchell which is just a big cage, or at the dump there are skips full. Phillip has been mentioned and there are bound to be others.

One time I found a neatly stacked pile of moving company tea chest boxes just lying there in the cage! Otherwise there’s usually plenty of various size boxes, take a knife or scissors so you can flat pack them into the car. The Mitchell cage usually has lots of boxes for car parts etc. that are a good size for packing heavier things.

Phillip Recycle Centre (or whatever it is called). I have collected boxes there, and seen other people doing the same. Free!
