Ask RiotACT

Hi Rioters.

This morning I heard on the ABC a report about Walking Football for over 50s. Sounded like a lot of fun. The club mentioned was based in Pittwater on the North Shore.

Is there a club or organisation for Walking Football in Canberra? Is anyone interested in starting one? Or playing?

Hi Peter,
Capital Football recently held a Walking Football trial and are moving towards bringing in a regular competition/playing environment. At this stage, we are seeking interest from individuals, so if you are interested, please fill out our short survey so we can look to set things up!

I saw the story too. I would love to play. I had to stop after breaking my leg at indoor soccer and have never been able to return to the required level of fitness. Age 52.

I’d love to give walking football a go. I played through my 30s and 40s (indoor and outdoor) but the knees gave out – common soccer problem I believe. I really miss football and reckon the knees might handle the walking game. Age 65
