Ask RiotACT: Who can glass in our deck?

Ask RiotACT

I’m hoping the hive mind might have some suggestions…

We have a fabulous, well built deck on our house. We’d like to enclose it with glass/windows to make it into extra living space.

We have absolutely no idea where to start looking for someone who could do this. My only bright idea (which turned out to be not so bright) was Spanline but they only do complete structures, not existing decks.

Ideas? Recommendations?

We had something done similar, except it wasn’t with glass. But we went with Transition homes-
As this was a bit of non-traditional work, it was good to go with someone who knew what they were doing. They also gave us several options and just overall were very helpful and pleasant to work with. I didn’t feel like I was being ripped off or anything u know.
Definitely would recommend them. Contact Ben from Transition Homes- 0401 742 774

Assuming here that you are planning to get plans, a building permit, use a licensed builder and get signoff? An expanse of glass isn’t something you’d want to risk any form of negligent liability over. Maybe consult the previous “Ask Riotact” threads to identify a competent builder, hopefully one who can draw up plans for you?
