The voice of business in Canberra

Australian Capital Tourism shilling for the Canberra Times

By johnboy - 2 October 2012 0

Here in the bunker we’re used to not getting anything like a fair share of Government advertising.

It’s the price of not being the safe voice saying what the powers that be want you the public to hear.

But when a Government website is actively encouraging other business to place advertising with their special mates, well that’s something super special:

Fairfax Regional Media are producing a 60 page magazine to celebrate the Centenary of Canberra, with support from both Australian Capital Tourism and the Centenary of Canberra unit. Advertising opportunities within the magazine are now open to industry.

The magazine will be inserted into 30 regional NSW newspapers and 5 regional Victorian newspapers, all within a 3.5 hour drive of Canberra. Circulation is approximately 390,000, with readership of nearly 1 million.

You’ve gotta love made up numbers don’t you?
