Awesome party in Holt ends with a bang and three injured

By johnboy 27 May 2012 23

ACT Policing is investigating an explosion at a house party in Holt overnight (Saturday, 26 May) which left three people injured.

Around 12.40pm Police were notified by ACT Ambulance Service (ACTAS) that they were attending an address in Holt in response to a woman with burns. Police had earlier attended the same address in relation to a number of noise complaints stemming from a party at that address and had been required to shut the party down.

When police re-attended the address, they identified three people who had suffered burns as a result of an explosion. Witnesses told police that an item had been thrown into a drum in the rear yard of the property causing the explosion.

ACTAS attended and treated a woman with burns to her legs, arms and face. Two men were also treated for burns to their lower legs. All three people were taken to the Canberra Hospital for further treatment to their injuries.

A number of witnesses were identified and are currently assisting police with the investigation into the cause of the explosion.

If you were at or around the party we’d love to hear about it.

Might have been a case of the good old unopened beer can or baked bean can in the fire trick. The backed bean can is a laugh wakes the party up thats for sure.

why weren’t the casualties sent to Calvary public?!

Maybe they wanted some advise on contraception along with their burns treatment.

Maybe you need to grow the F*** up… The teens injured are actually really good kids as i know them personally so how about you take into account the actual damage that was done and how this has changed their lives forever especially when one had only turned 18 a couple of weeks earlier you idiot

Just wondering if these are the same good kids who have made that street a misery for the last 5 months or so with thumping bloody bass weekend after weekend and when it takes the fancy, the odd weeknight as well. Same good kids that allow it to go on way past 12 when it does happen and often to sun up or the early early hours. Same bunch who have no consideration for the neighbours immediately behind who have young kids and have to put up with the non stop foulest language often being yelled and screamed. I live in the area and thankfully not immediately next to or behind as even a street away the thumping music and the yelling and language etc dies my head in, so no you must be talking about another bunch of good kids!

Good kids tend to be not so flammable.
