One for fans of the “Back to the Future” franchise (and a convincing demonstration of why people should pay more attention in class). This piece of YouTube magic was posted by grantus84 with the following note:

Short Film made for Lights! Canberra! Action! 10-day film making competition in Canberra, Australia.
It is a comedy based on the Back to the Future films.
It won Best Student Film, and Best Actor for Doc.

    Synopsis:
When Sydney is declared the capital city of Australia, Marty McFry is sent back in time to save Canberra.

As an exercise for the commenters, what’s the thing they’ve got most ludicrously wrong?

The newspaper headline read “Canberra Renamed Captial City” instead of “Capital”. Quite an amusing film. I enjoyed it.

The only thing I picked up without having to go back and look again was they said that Canberra was smack bang in the middle of Sydney & Melbourne.. Well, blow me why it takes more than double driving time to get to Melbourne, shit, I must’ve been going in the wrong direction all this time hehe.

Although, mind you, once after a huge weekend in Sydney it took my friend and I 7 hours via Bateman’s Bay to get home. Oh my it was a trip and a half lucky we still had a nice time and who’d know if you try to bypass roadworks going the other way in Sydney while thinking oh well we are heading for Wollongong so we’ll turn off there, never seen any magic turns oops!

Well it won them an award in the senior category, I’d put that in the “things got right” column!

A VW Beetle hitting 88mph.

The newspaper headline read “Canberra Renamed Capital City” when it should have said something like “Canberra Remains Capital City”.
