Back to work parking omnibus

We’ve grown to love looking at pictures of badly parked cars around Canberra.

For some it simply makes us feel better about our own lack of skills.

For the truly crap driver it sparks righteous indignation that the danger their lack of skills represents should be mocked.

Either way we all seem to like taking the pictures and looking at them.

So here’s the latest batch:

1. Bearlikesbeer sent us this, not the worst ever, but who doesn’t like giving the dips a poke?:

2. s-s-a had this to add, Audi drivers behaving like massive cocks always reassures that the world is still comprehensible:

Taken today at Woden Plaza ground floor of multi-storey near APK.

3. Where Audi drivers lead BMW’s are not far behind and Brandon found this one in Phillip:

4. Sheep Groper sent this one in on New Year’s Day:

I know it’s last year’s news, but I spotted this parking effort at Pialligo on Sunday.

The red car chose to rest in the only pond on the nature strip, perhaps it was thirsty?

5. Sirocco put Audi back in the lead with this sighting in Kingston:

6. GentooPenguin sent in a harbinger from Sydney:

After I caused a little bit of a kerfuffle in November about Parking with Prams, I thought there might be some appreciation for the next generation of parking courtesy. I snapped this sign in a Westfield during a recent trip to Sydney and wondered if they’ll be making an appearance in the ACT anytime soon.

Incidentally, there were two spots – both filled by seemingly non-hybrid cars. I must admit I don’t think I cared! 🙂

7. Meanwhile over the weekend Cape Street in Dickson had me wondering just how big a sign needs to be.

Didn’t mean to include Terra’s comments in my last post. Just muscledude_Oz (such a cringe-worthy name).

Ive got this guy, lives in the building next door, who always, and I mean always, parks facing by carving across the road and facing the wrong way. I havent really cared for months but recently 2 things happened. 1) he carved right in front of me and another car, at high speed, rather than slowing to let us past before his cross lane dash, and 2) I realised the parking inspectors are way to busy swooping on my work carpark 2 or 3 times a day to bother with 1 guiy in out of the way Bruce.

Please advise what I can do about this. Photo (with or without numberplate) available on request.

No 1 at the front entry to Woden Plaza probably couldn’t see properly when parking due to the cigarette smoke from Woolies and Coles employees sitting there on their extended smokos while their healthier colleagues are inside doing all their work.

Get over yourself, they can only go for a smoke during their break, so don’t act like they’re skiving off work for it. People should stop taking personal offence to smokers. It’s especially stupid when they use the argument that smokers are putting harmful pollutants into the air, ignoring the fact that anybody who drives a car is doing the same thing.

always love the last one – what? signage not big enough to see? (as i have actually asked peoiple leaving their vehicles thusly parked – usually to a grunt, if any response at all…)

No 1 may be an older photo; Oporto has been closed and shuttered since mid October.

So I’m not the only one that thinks that…

I did a bad park the other day. Crossed over that white line that separates my bay from someone elses.

I reversed, corrected my park and went about my day. People are just selfish and lazy and truth be told, I don’t like most of them anymore.

No. 3 looks like it’s in that funny little KFC/Dan Murphy enclave across Hindmarsh Dve from the Catholic club. The marked spaces in there are ludicrously narrow, such that I won’t go in there at all.
I reckon this park job is an entirely sensible response.

Nice to see all the usual heavy hitters in the dickhead driving stakes featuring prominently here.

Pretty damn big I assume.
