Bad Kids down south

So police haven’t seen fit to issue a media release, but local media is frothing at the mouth on this one so here goes.

The ABC are carrying some police warnings that 18 attacks in Tuggeranong and Woden since early December could be related and the work of a coterie of sadistic thugs who’ve taken their games out of the classrooms and onto the streets.

“We suspect that these thugs are travelling around the streets of Tuggeranong Valley identifying these isolated and vulnerable victims and attacking them for kicks.

“We believe that they’re not doing this for profitability they’re doing this for some sort of perverted sense of street credibility amongst themselves and their peers.

“So we’re concerned obviously that this is getting out of hand.”

While it’s a smart move on the thugs part stealing the phones to delay reporting of their crimes, one suspects they shouldn’t be that hard to catch if they’re causing serious concern.

Rather than try and reason with a comment as stupid as that I would rather call them a redneck and be done with it.

We can probably just agree to disagree here. Perhaps the bad kiddies down south need to spend some time in disease ridden war torn hell hole for a while – I bet they’d appreciate what we have here then!

VYBerlinaV8_the_one_they_all_copy1:36 pm 21 Jan 09

The important thing in all these circumstances, whether we are discussing immigration or personal opinions is to avoid the “them” and “us” attitude.

Except when talking about food. The ‘them’ food is invariably tasty, different, and sometimes contains chilli.

Timberwolf651:32 pm 21 Jan 09

I don’t hate anyone I am actually quite the opposite, I am not racist at all, maybe I don’t explain myself very well and I didn’t mean to offend anyone, I tend to tell it how I see it.

what I’m saying is everyone should be treated the same, If you come to this country love it and respect it, there should be no special handouts for some and not for others, WE SHOULD BE ALL TREATED THE SAME.

I don’t think I would be alone in saying we don’t want gang like crap here.

Failing any information on the background of the accused, anyone linking it to migration is clearly an idiot grinding a tired old axe.

Now let’s all get back on topic and some of you can consider yourselfs candidates for moderation.

> I am not a redneck, but why is it that a motorbike rider cannot go into a service station to pay for their petrol with a helmet on, but some races can walk in with their head dress still on and it is accepted, that’s what im talking about, shouldn’t it be the same rules for everyone.

Sorry Timber..you ARE a redneck. Somehow you’ve related a story about some kids in Tuggeranong doing stupid things to immigration being too easy & people of certain “races” being able to wear head dress into a servo? FFS!

well said granny. it is our diversity that makes this country what it is.

No, roll with the pack or be left behind because the human race is evolving past discriminating against people based on their culture.

I might be a lefty fag for illustrative purposes but I am in no way spineless and I stand by what I’ve said.

The point made by Timberwolf certainly did make me react in a pretty outraged fashion.

Roll with the pack or be left behind

In other words, be like the mainstream or don’t be accepted. Sounds suspiciously like the 1940’s to me…

No you said ‘the gates to this country have been open for far too long’. You weren;t referring to Canberra in that post at all.

Christians don’t deny you the chance to sing their carols at Christmas even though you aren’t one of them. Have you ever been held at gunpoint in a bank by a woman in a Burqha?

You’re full of crap and a small step away from becoming a hate monger.

Roll with the pack or be left behind because we wont miss that kinf of attitude.

VYBerlinaV8_the_one_they_all_copy1:18 pm 21 Jan 09

It gets personal because it’s a person who says it. If you make a comment like that you’re a redneck, I’m calling it as I see it.

No problem, you spineless lefty fag.

See how silly personalising it is? The insult above is purely for illustrative purposes – I think it’s inappropriate to generically label someone based on an idea they have put forth. Of course, the person may well be a redneck, but how do we have meaningful conversation if we descend to that level?

There is no place for someone saying we should have closed the gates to this country years ago when our country was founded on immigration. Anyone who supports these points of views or even sits on the fence deserves to be cut down, it’s my right to tell them what I think of their stupid ideals. If we’re going to make a difference in this world as individuals then we need to take a stand against this sort of stuff.

Immigrants came here to start a new life, in a new country. hanging onto the old country’s beliefs and history and behaving as if they were still in the old country doesn’t benefit any of us.
there needs to be the ability to contribute to the Australian nation, and ensure that their children learn the history of this country, and the laws and values that we all know. Gang mentality has no place here. The last thing we need is dissent from within.

Australia, as pointed out to me many years ago, by an immigrant, is what you make it. It can be a great place to live, or it can be war torn, fighting on the streets, crime, looting, panic. each of us have the ability to guide this country to where we would like it to be. If you don’t want to be here, there is nothing that can be done to stop you. younger members of families return to the homeland all the time, not convinced that their parent’s accounts of the suffering and hardship. for many, it is a real eye opener of just how good it is here.

(That was to AngryHenry)

The idea that the purveyors of outdated idea’s are somehow unfairly personally attacked would seem to be a bit far fetched. To me they would seem to be the first to insult, abuse, and attack not only large parts of our community but personally the people that identify with these sections of our community. Mostly they do this repeatedly and unchallenged. Fairs, fair. We can all have a go at it.

What I’m talking about is not unfair attack, but rather that resorting to name calling and emotional rhetoric (such as some in this thread) is not the way to change things. I see it in society generally, especially around issues like the environment, where if you don’t agree with the greenie mainstream you are somehow less of a human.

Whilst I agree that many of the outdated ideals are not good ones, the modern approach of ‘accept anything other than what’s old’ is not good either, as it encourages intellectual laziness. This includes accepting that it is ok to personally attack politically incorrect views. (I probably haven’t explained my position very well here).

I guess I’m more in support of attacking an idea rather than the person who raised it.

You also alienate a lot of people who would otherwise have agreed with you.

Im not a christian, I just remember singing christmas carols at xmas time when i was a kid and getting excited that santa would soon be coming.

You people on here all need to take a chill pill, Im just simply stating that Canberra never use to be as bad as it is lately, with youths going around in gangs like they are today bashing people with baseball bats and stuff.

Dexi, I’m sure we can all think of someone we know who is like that, but that is really just a stereotype and as such it’s not terribly helpful because people are too unique and individual to belong in those kinds of boxes.

The most important thing about a person is not their religion or their political persuasion or any other belief they might have about anything. It’s who they are inside. Beliefs can change. Habits can change. Lifestyle can change. It is the people that are important – who a person really is.

I mix with the most diverse range of people with the most diverse range of beliefs and attitudes possible. I don’t have to agree with everything about everyone in order to care about them and enjoy their company. You couldn’t put them in the same room together though, which I think is kind of sad.

The idea that the purveyors of outdated idea’s are somehow unfairly personally attacked would seem to be a bit far fetched. Of course being attacked repeatedly and personally for just existing is no fun.

VYBerlinaV8_the_one_they_all_copy11:59 am 21 Jan 09

Fair enough, but I still hear a lot of personalisation rather than simply attacking the ideas.

Sorry it surprises me how “outdated” ideas are usually harsh and involved inflicting further misery. Bashing children, bulldozing houses, killing people who don’t fit in, starving, violence, forced labour, castration and that’s just some of the old chestnuts.

Its the outdated ideas that are attacking.

Hohoho. Your so funny timberwolf.

wonder what the tatts for the causeway residents say?

“This way up”?

“Inhale…exhale…inhale…”?

Yeah you did, but what did you think you’d do with a statement like that?

I can’t cop any of it mate because all you’re throwing our there is hot air. If the kids don’t want to be Australian take a look at their parents and what they’ve done because I’ll bet you the mums and dads of these ‘bad kids’ are products of the so-called ‘good country’ you speak of.

It still is a good country, you realise that after you leave it for a while and then return.

People just don’t focus on the good because when all is well there is nothing to discuss.

You sound like a broken ‘One Nation’ record.

Honestly Timberwolf65, listen to yourself…who stops you singing Christmas carols??? Oh…& I’m a born & bred Australian…but I’m no Christian & Christmas carols are no part of my “culture”, how does that fit into your redneck little world?

I think you need to get out more and spend less time watching tabloid TV and listening to AM radio.

Timberwolf6511:26 am 21 Jan 09

Sorry I obviously offended you ANGRYHENRY, but when I see what use to be a good country (in my eyes) turn to shit and us having to change our culture, like not being able to sing certain christmas carols because it might offend etc.. it not right, when we go to other countries we respect their culture and religion, so the same should happen here, if people want to live here they should respect our culture.

I have meet kids who are not proud to be Australian, they want to be gangsters.
I am quite happy to live in a multicultural world as long as we can all do it peacefully.

Everyone wants to be a gangster, The gates to this country have been opened for far to long.

Some bad kids made it to the war memorial today, 7 news featured a group skating over it along with appropriately outraged adults.

Perhaps they should play “Sympathy for the Devil”?

reporting another bashing by a group of young guys . saturday at woden interchange around lunch time – they attacked and mugged a 14 year old boy for his mobile. so much for the “new music” that’s meant to be piping through the speakers in an effort to keep the young criminals away from the area. maybe they were using the wrong music on the day.

if that tatt encourages you guys to wank – you have real problems! not that good a tatt and just one question ……why????

that song from the 90’s needs an update
“We’re all just tatoos to the left of our parents,
the’re all just earrings to the left of theirs,
and we all wonder why thugs grow like wildflowers”

Wow, long post – sorry guys 😛

LOL to all, but on the subject of tattoos, I have wanted one since I was about 15.

I’m now 30 and got my first tattoo last year because it was custom designed by me.

It took me 15 years to decide on something that I was happy with, drew, redrew, put it on tracing paper and speed sticked it to the place it was intended and finally settled on a design.

This way, my design is totally unique, my own fonts, and the original, and all correspondence and drafts were handed back to me from the tattoo artist on completion.

If you’re wondering, my tattoo is a stylised tribal D on my right bicep. I got it done higher than my t-shirt line because I got it for me, not for me to look tuff.

Chances are you would not even notice, Im sure many of RA’s regualars were up till now unaware I had said tattoo.

Getting a tattoo because you rmates are is pretty stupid, I know, I have blood brothers who meant everything to me when I was 17, now I don’t even know them. Imagine if I got a tattoo with them back then. I probably would be thinking now how do i cover that up.

Anyway I heard on teh radio on teh way home yesterday that the extra media attention these miscreants have attracted just spurned them into more action – and they wonder why its always the nerdy loners who take guns to school. Maybe its because they never had a chance to go 1 on 1 so they have to turn the tables in their favour in their own manner.

I’m afraid Batman is more worried about the tv they took off him while being in remand for the incident with Robin.

We need batman.

…according to Mike Judge anyway. It was only a movie.

I watched a movie the other day called ‘Idiocracy’ directed by Mike Judge.

It wasn’t that great but it had an interesting concept behind it, similar to Futurama a guy goes into cryosleep and wakes up in the future. Only problem with this future is it was run by dumb people. The President of the World was the Smackdown World Champ and a Porn Star for example and all their crops died because the Government did a deal with a company like Gatorade to replace water.

How could something like this happen? Because sensible people plan things like having kids out, ‘not until we have the house’, ‘get married’, whatever whereas white-trash breed like vermin.

Smart people need to start breeding or we will be over-run and the human race will devolve into a society of parasitic sacks of meat.

There’s a ‘gang’ in Tuggeranong (their name escapes me atm), who love to visit local schools in the Tuggeranong area and threaten kids with weapons. The cops know who they are and some of these idiots are over 18.

They usually get off with a warning as I have never seen or heard of any of them getting prosecuted for 1) trespass or 2) attempted assault of a minor.

As school is out, they have nothing better to do with their sorry lives than inflict harm on others. They should all be locked up and lobotomised.

Agree with that 100%. I guess it’s a resourcing issue..probably not the fault of the police force itself, more of our local pollies not pumping enough cash into it.

And perhaps instead of pulling me over because I’m walking my dog on a hot afternoon with a stubby

What a load of crap. Surely they have better things to do.

Perhaps if their parents weren’t out drink-driving all the time we might actually be able to see one of these partol cars you speak of.

They really do need to put a few more resources into patrolling suburbs I believe.

And perhaps instead of pulling me over because I’m walking my dog on a hot afternoon with a stubby they should take a look at the creeps that are wandering our neighbourhood during the day. We’re at work paying taxes to help keep this little utopia going and they’re breaking into our homes making a nusiance of themsleves.

It’ll be all good until they accidentally pick on someone who whoops their arses, at which point they’ll become the victims.

Shoot them on sight, that way we won’t have to listen to their whinging.

Another reason why Tuggeranong and Woden are both valleys, Calling Calling them both holes was not a good real estate marketing tactic.

Gang mentality is for the weak and spineless.

…and even if a patrol car just driving around did spot a group of cowards (not thugs) walking along a street what would happen then…..?

It is not isolated to bashings etc. Schools are vandalised each week, cars damaged and all other manner of things.

It’s a mythical creature that prowls the streets administering swift justice to societies rebrobates. It is the arch nemesis of the ACT judiciary who all believe that the best place for a criminal is out on the streets.

> Methinks a patrol car or two should be able to spot them.

What is this “patrol car” of which you speak? Can’t say I’ve seen one of those in quite some years.

Someone will be calling for a curfew next. All young people must be locked up come 7pm.

They shouldn’t be that hard to find, a pack of degenerates wandering the streets late at night in a suburban area. Methinks a patrol car or two should be able to spot them. . They should be publicly pilloried and horsewhipped.

Glad to see they’re keeping it out of the schools.

Or meet a real vampire.

I hope they’re given some of their own medicine when they’re caught.
