Bad to worse for Brumbies

During last night’s game between the Brumbies and the Waratahs, George Gregan took a nasty knock and was noticibly limping around the pitch before being replaced. I can’t find any online sources yet but it turns out that the Guv has broken his leg and will be out for at least 6 weeks. While the Brumbies still have a mathematical chance of making the finals I wouldn’t be holding out for a home game.

Details of the actual game which i’d rather forget can be found at rubgyheaven, planetrugby and foxsports

Oh dear JB showing that he has only been on board since the super 12 band wagon started rolling 10 yrs ago.

Yes the Grand Slam Wallabies of ’84 were famed for their dour, grinding, approach.

I don’t mind a tight game, they can be very exciting, especially when goal-kicking is matched.

It was the farcical skill level on display Saturday night which was depressing.

I agree with the “real rugby” comment to a certain extent…however, there was a distinct lack of any real fowrards play on Saturday night…as pointed out by a visiting Welsh friend who asked “Don’t they use forwards in Super 12?”

Horrible Game…..Oh dear JB showing that he has only been on board since the super 12 band wagon started rolling 10 yrs ago.
JB Wot yu saw on saturday nite was a return to the good old days of rugby.
Anyone will tell yu that the rugby played by rep teams before super 12 was exactly that boot it down field wait for them to make a mistake etc….
The purist where loving every minute of it.
No more of that flashy backs stuff. Bring on those grinding forward clashes and big kicks down field…. Ahhhhhh real rugby.

With five minutes to go I thought “we can still win this”

And then I thought, but we don’t deserve to.

And I’ve never thought that before, an never thought I would against the ‘Tahs.

Still the NSW folk weren’t gloating either after the game, it was a shamefull afair from both sides.

One observer suggested that both sides were too afraid of losing to try and win.

I don’t know if that was the case but lord knows it was a horrible game.

Looks like the ACT Government will be paying people to have Brumby plates taken off their hands… no one is going to pay good money for licence plates froma bunch of losers.
