Bailey vs Seselja

Senate Candidate for the ACT Steven Bailey has just unleashed a sternly worded press release calling out Zed Seselja and claiming that Zed represents “no one but himself” and has “fought for nothing but his own position.”

Strong words.

Cue “Oooooooohhhhh!” from the rest of the classroom.

Here’s some more of Bailey’s words:

Bailey is driven by a fundamental conviction that people who aspire to public office are morally obliged to engage with the communities they seek to represent. From one hundred days out from the election Bailey will implement his ‘ZED – Get Out of Bed’ campaign in the spirit of a robust contest of ideas for the people of the ACT.

Bailey puts it to Zed that he has already betrayed the people of the ACT by promising to serve for four years in the ACT Legislative Assembly having planned, well before the last ACT election, to stab his mentor Gary Humphries in the back and move for a position in the Federal Senate.

‘Zed Seselja represents the professionalisation of politics, the rationalisation of cowardice, and the vacuous culture of leadership in Australia today. It is incumbent upon us to search for new types of politicians, earthier politicians – Politicians with songs in their hearts.’

‘Zed is the wrong choice for the ACT – Abbott knows it, the Liberal Party knows it and soon so will the rest of the ACT.’

Zed has yet to respond to Steven, but it’s rumored that they might meet near the bike racks at little lunch to sort this out, unless someone tells a teacher first in which case it’ll have to be by the milk-bar after school.

‘ZED – Get Out of Bed’ is a pretty good campaign slogan.

This is a bit of a change from those pics with the cute pooch – anyway, he’s probably only saying what many in the Liberal Party, and the Labor Party, and the Greens, and the Sun-Dried etc. etc. ….. are thinking.

Excuse my ignorance but is Bailey is a Liberal? I’ve never heard of the guy.

Zed Seselja is the only person in Canberra who I would vote below Simon Sheikh. Simon Corbell and Alastair Coe come close

Bailey is from the Katter Australian Party, and is the member who caused a bit of a ruckus when he endorsed gay marriage.

‘ZED – Get Out of Bed’ is a pretty good campaign slogan.

At least this bloke will ad some entertainment value. Should make the election a little more interesting here in Canberra

…says the guy shamelessly running a blatant personal attack campaign?

There is quite a lot to attack about Zed though, let’s be honest.
