Yeah… but getting run over in City Walk isn’t so much fun.

Prey tell??

I can imagine it would have been pretty good. I actually think London Circuit should be permanently one way, narrowed and traffic slowed to 40km/h. The extra space on London Circuit could be used for commercial purposes eg, outdoor cafes etc and the changes would give priority to pedestrians and better connect both sides of London Circuit. The same thing should happen on Bunda St too.

My only gripe about today is I wish I had known earlier about the changes and understood the consequences.

I agree abut the traffic was a clusterfuck this morning. The message was obviously not projected enough.

While it was nice walking along the circuit I was only doing it because the bus was stuck in traffic 🙂

Bugger. I wish I’d read this post before I started driving today. I assume this is the reason for the absolute meltdown on Vernon Circle, C’wealth Ave and Parkes Way – to name a few roads.

It would have been nice if the media release included details about detours to ACTION bus routes. FYI for anyone interested, buses will be diverted through the western side of London Circuit. (which is apparently a longer-term detour while footpaths in front of the Legislative Assembly and Commonwealth Bank are being replaced.)

My bus driver this morning was completely oblivious to the London Circuit closure and just went through anyway, after the kindly workers moved the traffic barriers for him. Five minutes later, cue a fairly despairing-sounding supervisor at the depot over the radio: “Attention all drivers. There seems to be a lot of confusion about the closure of London Circuit. The route drivers SHOULD be taking is as follows…”

Given that it runs for three days, shouldn’t it now be BAMOASLW?
