I did notice that banana prices at the Belco Fesh Food markets were as high as the supermarkets.

It seems like these days, just about all the fruit and veg at the Belco markets is as expensive as the supermarkets, and often more.

Yeah I noticed that too, so i dropped into the Fyshwick markets last weekend and the prices there seemed lower. I think it has something to do with ‘competition’. Or the fact I arrived at 4 oclock…

The deceptive thing about banaas is that the quality on the outside doesnt always represent the quality of what lies underneath their little yellow suit. i’m happy to buy bananas that dont look like they rolled out of a cloned banana factory, especially if they are on the cusp of mush.

In a sign of the expensive banana times, the local coffee shop is now selling blueberry bread instead of the banana variety because they are too expensive and would make the per slice cost prohibitive.
Shame on you bananas, SHAME!

I went to Jabal in Kippax the other day and while their bananas were less than half the price of Woolies across the road they were very poor quality, unedible IMO, so I fished out the Gold Amex and went back to Woolies.

astress purchased a single item of these on the weekend, at $3.70! astromonkey enjoyed it immensely, however, so value for money, i guess…

Bags of still good bananas being sdold at Jerrabomberra Woollies for 2 bucks a bag on the weekend.

No, they didn’t last long.

been $12.99 at Coolo woolies, though JUST after I checked out they were selling off bags of then for $3 *sadface*

Do we really need a sign to tell us that bananas are yellow and bent?

How much were the straight bananas in the city?
