ACT Fire Brigade has extinguished a fire in a residential house on Carter Place, Banks.

House has sustained significant structural and roof damage.

House was unoccupied at time of fire and no neighbouring property sustained damage.

Three fire pumpers on scene with the specialist Breathing Apparatus van.

Investigations into the cause are underway.

TIme of Emergency Triple Zero (000) call 3:45am from a nearby neighbour.

ACT Fire Brigade fire investigators continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.

No suspicious circumstances.

Estimated damage $400,000.

ACT Fire Brigade fire investigators have determined the point of origin of the fire in the kitchen of the house.

The fire was started by the high end dishwasher we put there a couple of years ago.
