[Ed] Now with photos from the morning, but I had to leave early.

Here’s hoping the weather will improve for the annual RSPCA Pet’s Party which their website advises will be on this Saturday:

“On Saturday 31 October, RSPCA ACT will be hosting their annual party for pets.

Join us at 12 Kirkpatrick Street Weston from 11am to 2pm for a day of family fun. Enjoy a BBQ, stalls, the RSPCA shop, dog games, and dog washing by Aussie Pooch Mobile.

Entry is by gold coin donation, and there is a fantastic lucky door prize up for grabs!

We ask that all pets are vaccinated, secured, and under control of their owners at all times.

We look forward to seeing you there!”

It’s amazing how RSPCA ACT staff go “above and beyond” to make sure that events like this are possible and a success. Not to mention the loyal band of volunteers who are seen again and again, hard at work at these things. Really shows the power of a community coming together.

If I knew this was on, I would have gone. (did they have a pup idol competition there? My dog and I won the pup idol at the Million Paws Walk earlier in the year, I would’ve had a go at it again if I had the chance.)

Good fun time for dogs and people both, but pretty hot for some in black fur coats.
