Territory And Municipal Services have put out a note warning they’re closing the Barton Highway at the Gungahlin Drive intersection from 8pm to 6 in the morning from 7 February to 20 February.

This is for the bridge work.

Good luck finding another way around.

Does anyone know if the left turn into Mitchell (coming from Hall – just before the bridge) will still be open? Or do they close it off before there?

It hasn’t been closed for any previous roadworks, so I see no reason it should be closed this time.

Between 8pm and 6am? Oh yeah, that’s going to be a real struggle. Anyone who needs luck to avoid that intersection shouldn’t be driving.

And, just like last time, the electronic signs around the bridge tell a different story (7th – 28th this time). At least, one of them does – the other has, for the last few weeks, been spun around sideways so that you can’t read it at all.

I’m curious if this closure will culminate in another attempt at a concrete pour. If so, I’d be half inclined to show up with a camera, just on the off chance that they screw it up again 🙂
