About time we had some pay parking in the triangle. The commuter bus service is actually quite good, if only people would use it.

Bring on pay parking in the parliamentary triangle!
And to those who say add more parking, adding more parking is akin to an obese man addressing his weight issues by buying a longer belt!

Yeah, it’s been getting progressively worse in that part of Brisbane Ave for the last three or four years. No tickets have ever issued as far as I know, maybe the departments around there feel guilty about employing more people than they can provide parking for?

You’d want to be sure your handbrake was sound before parking on that incline, though. I’m told there have been a couple of incidences of cars sliding down the bank on wet days, which can’t have ended well.

I saw a lady trying to reverse down the hill with the steering on full lock to miss several 4WDs parked there. Then she dug a nice hole as she tried to drive back up the hill with the steering on full lock the other way. Not much room for error…

Having walked up Brisbane Avenue at lunctime today, I can’t believe how cars park up at the north western end. If they did that anywhere else in Canberra they’d have parking inspectors all over them.

(Not that I blame them, I’m just surprised)
