Baseball heavies

Whilst at the Canberra Cavalry vs New Zealand baseball game (won 17-0 by the Cavs) it became apparent some of our more husky citizens were in attendance.

Case in point was a rotund, hotdog swilling individual, who in an apparent effort to save time and kilojoule expense tried to slip between the bench seat and footpad of the ‘bleachers’ and became stuck around the midsection.

Comically he removed himself after some time but did draw attention to the high proportion of obese people there.

The LA Dodgers could set up a feeder team called the Salad Dodgers – boom tish.

Is this baseball or a comment on the Canberra population as a whole?

Well, baseball is American so it’s not surprising to see the fans adopting the Yanks’ most notable contribution to the world – obesity.

Ha! Good one. You totally got those Americans. The great thing about living in Australia is that nothing’s ever our fault.

And I’m sure you’ve got a clever excuse for the two-thirds of Australians who are overweight and obese and don’t follow baseball. Or is that Americans again? You know, the Americans who’ve been breaking into our homes since the 60s and forcing us to consume American imperialist treats like pies, sausage rolls, flavoured milk, chops, sausages, white bread, beer, fish and chips, Chiko rolls, fried dim sum, takeaway Chinese, schnitzel, lamingtons, pavlova, sponge cake, chocolate crackles…

ohh you make me hungry

I think it’s a the comment on how it was real nice of you sit and laugh and not help someone in trouble…

Sounds like we need a Good Samaritans law, like in the final episode of Seinfeld.

Yeah but then I couldn’t sit around laughing at local cyclists when they get attacked by the neighbourhood magpies.

On a whole however, I think I saw a story a few months ago saying that Canberra had the highest gym membership and the highest participation in sports in Australia with the chief demo involved in health and fitness being young people. So thankfully that scene is probably not representative of Canberra as a whole. But as for the western suburbs of Sydney …

Fat people need loving too.

haha fat people crack me up

Liking hotdogs is not the problem. Stuffing too many of them in your face is the problem.

OP is awesome.

Was fatty’s name ‘Seymour Butts’ ?

I think it’s a the comment on how it was real nice of you sit and laugh and not help someone in trouble, and post about how awesome you are to notice that the guy in trouble didn’t deserve help because he likes hot dogs.
