ACT Policing is calling for help from the public to identify two men who are believed to be responsible for an alleged assault against a taxi driver in the early hours of Sunday morning (20 February).
About 12.15am, police were called to an address in Forde after a fare dispute.
The alleged victim had driven a fare to the house in Aida Ball Street and a dispute developed with two men in relation to the fare. As a result of the dispute, the taxi driver was assaulted.
The main offender is described as being approximately 188cm (6’2”) tall, with a large thick build. He has medium-length hair and appears to be aged in his late 30s.
The second man is described as being of European and/or Middle Eastern appearance, with a heavy-set build. He has closely cropped hair and also appears to be in his late 30s.
Both men have distinctive tattoos on their arms and across the top of their chests.
Police are requesting anyone who recognises these men or can assist the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via their website www.act.crimestoppers.com.au . Information can be provided anonymously.
