belconnen workmanship

Gday, here’s a bit of good old-fashioned Belco-style workmanship, taken a few days ago on a lovely autumn morning on Beissel street.

Pffft, it’s belco. It’ll fit right in.

Bit of a crap photo, really.

But this guys seems to be begging for attention…

Maybe they meant “colon”. Perhaps a punctuation enthusiast, or a proctologist?

This is what worried me. It is hard to pick on the rest of it without knowing exactly what the final intention is, but it is pretty obvious that the mark doesn’t line up with colom.

LOL. A true pedant, though, would also point out that the label ‘door’ beneath each of the gates is also an indication of shoddy workpersonship. 😉

Looks like my spelling of ‘autom’ above got corrected so apologies if the joke is lost, tears in the rain etc, but yes they spelled column wrong a couple of times. Yes.

Also there is a huge drop from that gate and the word colom doesn’t line up with either column so great job all round.

I’m thinking the original idea was that the ground would be landscaped so the top of the concrete building foundation would be level with the ground, and the pavers recessed in to that. Not ~30cm above it.

The Belco car-dealerships are as bad. Anyone after a ‘minimun’ trade-in?

They went to Taylor Primary.

I’d prefer my walls built by someone who knew how to build walls. I don’t care about their ability to spell. Given two builders who were equally capable of building walls though, I’d probably wish I could afford the one who could spell properly, but go with the illiterate simply because the quote was cheaper.

Of course you could express your inner snark and correct the spelling of “COLUMN”. I’m sure the builder would appreciate that.

In the meantime, please post some photos of walls that you’ve built lately.

Spelling of column as “colom” perhaps?

what…. am i looking for here?
