ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery of a man at the Belconnen Community Bus Station yesterday (Wednesday, January 25).
About 3.15 pm the 37-year-old man was waiting to catch a bus when he was approached by an unknown female asking for money.
After giving the woman some coins he noticed his bag missing. When he asked other nearby passengers where his bag was a woman pointed in the direction of the unknown female.
When the man asked the female for his bag back she produced a sharp metal object and threatened him. The man gave chase however the female picked up some broken glass and threatened the man again.
The female was last seen in Chandler Street entering the Belconnen Labor Club.
The offender is described of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged in her mid to late twenties, about 5’3” (160cm) tall, with long dark hair and a slim build. She was wearing a fluorescent pink hat, black 3/4 length pants, grey T-shirt, carrying a large dark coloured square backpack with a stripe pattern and a large black plastic bag in her hands.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, in particular two women who were sitting on a nearby seat at the Belconnen Community Bus Station about 3.15 pm.
