Red Salt is always advertising their Friday & Saturday seafood buffet on Out In Canberra. That said, I haven’t actually attended.

Don’t do it! Even all you can eat at the Wynn’s at Vegas, with it’s fantastic food, is not good for your soul or waist.

Is there any decent all you can eat joints in the Civic area? Shame about the KFC being closed.

They even had an apple crumble pizza for dessert. Unlimited soft serve icecream with syrup and M&Ms plus endless soft drink.

Ah yes. I mourned the demise of the apple crumble pizza at the Emu Bank pizza hut all you can eat. BTW, Debacle in Braddon make a really good dessert pizza.

With food, like most things in life, quality is usually better than quantity! 🙂

Nonsense. Sex, money, and chips to name three.

Sounds like you’ve never had quality sex.

Spoken like a man in a drought…!

I remember when Pizza Hut had The Works (late 1990s) where it was all you can eat Pizza during lunch hour. Their former restaurant in Lonsdale St Braddon was by far the best with a huge variety. They even had an apple crumble pizza for dessert. Unlimited soft serve icecream with syrup and M&Ms plus endless soft drink.

Lionel Hutz: Now, Mrs. Simpson, tell the court in your own words what happened after you and your husband were ejected out of the restaurant.

Marge: Well, we pretty much went straight home.

Lionel Hutz: Mrs. Simpson, remember that you are under oath.

Marge: We drove around until three in the morning looking for another open all-you-can-eat seafood restaurant.

Lionel Hutz: And when you couldn’t find one?

Marge: [crying] We… went… fishing.

Lionel Hutz: Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, do these sound like the actions of a man whose had ALL he could eat?

Au contraire. I’ve had some excellent sex in my time. But I’d trade a quickie a day for a memorable 6 hour marathon once a year anyday (except when there are more than two participants in costumes and the odds are in my favour. I can go a year without for that).

Who remembers the all you can eat KFC in the city, across from Glebe Park?

That sounds like a wondrous place full of enchantment and unlimited grease.

It’s a shame that two of my favourite haunts as a wee kiddy have been closed for yonks; Pizza Hut (at least the AYCE part) and Sizzler. Those were heady days when the bain-maries seemed to be filled with wonderment at questionably safe temperatures.

I mourned the passing of Sizzler and the great cheese bread 🙁

There was a Sizzler in Patong Beach in Thailand when I was there last and we got absolutely STUFFED full of AYCE. Good times.

Theres still eat in Pizza Huts around Aus but not Canberra 🙁

Just to confirm Tradies *isn’t* all you can eat. It’s a serving of meat, and “unlimited” use of the salad bar.

Geez that sounds exciting.

There’s a yum cha place at the top end of Cohen St in Belco that is all you can eat lunch for $16.80. I’ve pigged out there a few times.

Food court where? Did you mean the up-stairs joint in Wooley St? Or Tradies?

As stated, Dickson, your answer is in your question lol

I don’t know much about art but I know what I like. After enduring the almost indigestible “food” at the Food Court Family Restaurant I know what I don’t like.

There is McChina at the Burns club, $19 for all-you-can-eat. Not as big a range as the food court or 83 restaurant but good food and a nice semi-bushland view out the big windows.

Theyre only open some nights, I think Wed-Sat or something, so call in advance to find out their hours. If youre ever travelling, I believe that the 83 restaurant chain still exists outside of Canberra, if youre looking for all-you-can-eat on your travels.

I don’t know of too many all you can eat places apart from the Family Food Court in Dickson unless you’re after a seafood buffet or Yum Cha.

Try Rydges Lakeside on a Friday night for the seafood buffet or the dumpling joint next to Bing lee in Belconnen for Yum Cha.

I do, and I remember getting food poisoning from the choc mousse more than once. Good times.
