Hi All,

I have recently become the owner of a baby rabbit, and have been looking around at the different vets in town that I might take her to.
And I am wondering if any bunny owners out there have any recommendations for vets that are particularly good with rabbits?

Ideally, I would like to find a good, caring and responsible vet for a reasonable cost.

But what have your experiences been with Canberra vets and your bunnies?

Thanks 🙂

Without a doubt Inner South Veterinary Centre takes the cake for rabbit care.

Expect to pay the same amount as taking a dog/cat but it seems worthwhile as they provide the same standard/level as I would expect from a dog/cat visit.
I had other vets in the past that treated my bunny as a silly animal that did not deserve the same amount of care. Once I found this one I’ve never been anywhere else.

Congrats and good luck with your new bunny.

+1 for Inner South. I recently had my elderly Bearded Dragon there and noticed that pet birds and rabbits out numbered cats and dogs in the waiting room. Prices are reasonable, not sure if there is much difference between animals, but the consult (plus phone chat), overnight stay, x-ray & medication cost me about $300.

If not I have a good recipe for stew.

Joking, joking joke!!!!

So you should be joking. Rabbit stew is nowhere near a good as devilled rabbit, and the tandoori rabbit a previous neighbour of mine used to make (in an authentic tandoor oven) was just outstanding!

Did you know rabbits are banned in Qld? It is illegal to keep a rabbit as a pet up there.

Yes, they can be dangerous when placed on a child’s head.

There was a Playboy Club behind the helipad at Tan Son Nhut airbase.

all creatures veterinary centre in Calwell has always been fantastic for my guinea pigs and they’re reasonably priced.
