Go to Rock salt in Hawker. Best roo ever, its the reason I now buy roo all the time and cook for myself.

I know the Green Herring used to do that kind of thing (and a great lambs brain entre). Haven’t been there in ages so can’t vouch for current quality (though it used to be great). The good thing about the Green Herring is that rustic feel – real ‘strayan like.

The roadkill on the GDE has been good source of roo for the last couple of weeks.

Kamberra winery restaurant used to do nice kangaroo. They also recommend an Australian wine by the glass with their meals. I’m not even sure if they are still open though.

Americans are also impressed by Balmain Bugs if you can find somewhere that has those.

Just get some steaks at the butcher and cook’em for your friend.

Oddly enough, at both places we have “owned” in Canberra–one in Gungahlin, one in the inner north–we have had a kangaroo hop down the path outside our front door.

Spose I should have nabbed them and chucked ’em on the bbq!
