I’m rather new to Canberra and have a chronic condition that requires massage and acupuncture when it flares up.

I’ve been looking for someone who does both, but there seem to be a lot of options. I’d like something central to the city if possible, but I could always bus to a great place if it’s worth it. I’m also looking for something on the lower end of the budget, but of course, I don’t want so cheap that they are re-using needles or anything….

I second Dennis Yu he knows what he is doing. I get regular acupuncture and massage for a chronic neck condition. He has helped me tremendously. He is always professional, thorough and has reasonable prices.
He is at Lonsdale Street Braddon – Capital Complementary Therapies Centre.

Not really central to the City but definately worth the bus trip is Mary at The Chinese Medicine Clinic at Kippax Shops. She is fantastic and amazingly cheap. A one and a half hour massage and accupuncture will set you back $75.
She is fantastic and everyone I’ve recommended her to is very happy with her.

Without a doubt, Dennis Yu. He used to run Miracle Chinese Clinic on Bunda Street (next to the Canberra Centre), but he’s now opened a new clinic on Lonsdale Street in Braddon – about 5 minutes walk from the previous location.

I had a workplace injury and my GP prescribed massage. I went to Clinic 88 and they were OK but not great. Then my GP wanted me to add acupuncture as well. I decided to try to find someone who could do both. Some people on this site had previously recommended Dennis, so I called him up.

I was shocked at how low his prices were – $85 per hour as opposed to $100-$120.

I was then shocked at how great the massage and acupuncture were! He spends a lot of time on massage and he’s extremely thorough. His hour is a full 60 minutes as opposed to the 50 minutes that most places offer. With his help, my condition resolved quickly. I still like to go once in a while just as a treat. His new place in Braddon is very nice and I like to get some coffee at Lonsdale Roasters (the best in the city) just across the street.
