G’day folks,

Organising a 30th lunch and looking for tips on the best winery restaurants around Canberra. I’ve tried Flint (nice food, poor ambience) and Lerida Estate (average food, nice ambience). Have heard good things about the restautants at Lake George Winery and Lambert winery.

Just looking for a nice room that can accomodate a booking of 30-35 ppl – and interesting tasty food of course.

Thanks!

Unfortunately Flint has very little ambience these days,

I think you will find the OP was probably referring to Flint in the Vines at Shaws in Murrumbateman, not Flint that was recently flame grilled in New Acton

Shaw Winery has very nice food and good ambience. Expensive but good! And you would need to organise transport to and from.

Avoid Kamberra. Organised a function there a while back, arrogant manager and food on menu is not the same as what you get on the plate.
+2 for Poachers, nice drive out there and a lot of effort to match the food and wine. Their smoked goods are all top end in terms of quality and production values.

Unfortunately Flint has very little ambience these days,

You should try Lark Hill, Lamberts, Shepherd’s Run, Koonaburra, Poacher’s Pantry (Wily Trout Wines).

A huge +1 for Poachers Pantry. Mmmm, now I’m craving their kangaroo prosciutto, and smoked lamb cutlets…
