Beware of potholes today.

Right about here, where William Hovell Dr passes under Caswell Dr, a large pothole has opened in the lane turning to head south on the Parkway. After passing this pothole (and narrowly missing it, even though the traffic was very slow), I then counted no less then six cars stopped with flat tires.

I would recommend everyone keep an eye on the road surface, as in this rain huge holes can open quickly. I would also recommend paying attention to the handling of your vehicle, as at least one car had a pretty shredded tire, and had gone some distance with it flat.

None of the people appeared happy to be standing/changing a tire in the rain.

I fell foul of a Flemington Rd pothole in December. If you need wheel repairs I recommend Spot on Wheel Repairs. They’re in Unanderra (Wollongong). There doesn’t appear to be anyone local who can fix alloy wheels. The Wheel Factory (?) in Fyshwick used to do it several years ago but I think they got bought out by Jax and they no longer do wheel repairs.

Correct about Jax, but Rallimax Sport (in Mitchell) can straighten out damaged alloy wheels.

Anyway, it cost me $18 to post the wheel, $240 to remove the large bend in the inside rim and another $20 to get it posted back. Looks and works like the ding was no longer and meant that I didn’t have to buy 4 new wheels since replacements are no longer available.

I’ve only used them once and have no affiliation with them. Not recommended for children. Your mileage may vary. Do not eat. Contents may be hot.

I was one of the unfortunate ones yesterday. Bloody expensive pot hole 🙁

Flemington road outside EPIC is a shocker. Some massive holes.

Northbourne northbound on the right most lane opened up a strip about 5m long. I think its cordoned off now though.

The ones at EPIC have been there for months, possibly years. Possibly caused/exasperated by heavy construction vehicles heading out to Gungahlin.

There aren potholes in the right hand lane of Northbourne Ave (northbound) near Morphett St Dickson that have been there for ages as well.

Those potholes on Northbourne get fixed very regularly. Only to re-appear after a couple of days of heavy rain…

Some big ones on William Hovell northbound at the top of the hill just after it turns into 2 lanes. Quite a few cars parked.

Completely agree with the ‘beware of potholes’ advice for today although in this weather they can be impossible to see until you’re right on top of them.

The only reason I missed the one in the OP is that I had just gone straight through (a thankfully smaller) one and so was on the lookout.

But think of the good the rain is doing for our pothole- free National Aboretum.

I was travelling west on Hindmarsh drive this morning and there were two massive potholes in the right hand lane just near Eggleston Cres. By the time I saw them it was too late to avoid them but lucily I was travelling at 60-70 instead of 80 kmh and the car seemed to be fine. By the time I was driving back home and hour later that lane was blocked off.

I wonder if there is any warranty assocated with the “newly constructed” Glenloch Interchange……….

This person is trying to help. Stop with the corrections, it’s mean (was tempted to leave the apostrophe out, to see who corrected me).
