Beware the stolen generator

By johnboy - 15 August 2011 13

oxyzone generator

ACT Policing is appealing for the return a stolen industrial generator which if used incorrectly, can have fatal consequences.

The silver Oxyzone S32 Industrial Generator was stolen from a red Holden Combo van in Devine Court, Phillip, between 12pm Saturday, August 13, and 11am Sunday, August 14.

Police have been advised that looking into the light can cause immediate blindness and the inexperienced use of this item can have fatal consequences.

The generator produces a powerful UV light and is used to destroy cells/odours at forensic incidents.

Anyone who may be able to assist police with the investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

Note to junkies, it will get you really high if you look into the light! A 5 second stare is all you need.

Do you think they’ll make an apology for the stolen generator?

Today you are a god.

I feel compelled to line up in the queue offering appreciation for that masterpiece. We are not worthy. 🙂

Thank you for the kind words, but really johnboy did most of the work with his clever subject line. I just tacked a little bit on top.

This should pretty easy to track down the culprit, just hang out at the hopsital waiting for a newly blind person to turn up.

Assuming they can find their way…

Don’t do it, you’ll go blind! I know it’s a stupid comment, but I just couldn’t help myself.

Its actually an industrial grade air purifier that uses intense UV-C (the really nasty one) light to produce o-zone.

‘destroy cells/odours at forensic incidents’ means its used to ‘freshen up’ the stench at those crime scenes where no-one can even approach without hurling their guts.

Its not a UV lamp, its an ozone generator (using UV).
Perfect for the discerning criminal who needs to destroy any onsite organic evidence before it becomes police evidence, by forensic cleaners during the insurance cleanup phase of a animal\human trauma incident or flood, or during food preparation to sanitise kitchens and work surfaces.

Also, it has safety features meaning you can’t risk going blind by looking at the UV lamps inside.

The title made me think of a thing that produces electricity (the common usage of the word “generator”), but it appears to be a industrial grade UV floodlight?

Bet it gives a good (and quick) tan. 🙂

DAMN!

Nice bit of equipment. Can’t wait to hear all the cases of blinding amongst the lower echeclons of our socio-economic environment.
