I am looking forward to being able to drive to work knowing that there will always be a reasonably secure car parking space available near where I work when I need it. I’ll pay for that!

You’d be amongst the minority who view free car parking as a service and not a RIGHT.

As opposed to the almost complete mess it currently is…

Pay parking structures are one way to help resolve the mess. If you drive, you should expect to have to pay to park. Right now it’s free and crap. I am looking forward to being able to drive to work knowing that there will always be a reasonably secure car parking space available near where I work when I need it. I’ll pay for that!

Another car park bites the dust. The 2.5 carparks you can see between Sydney and Canberra Ave have already been sold off, and the one (nearest Sydney Ave) that is general access (the rest is leased to DBCDE) is being fenced off as of tonight! Parking around there is going to be a complete mess tomorrow morning.
