A 40-year-old Greenway woman will face court at a later date after recording an alcohol reading of 0.254 on Saturday afternoon (November 26).

About 3pm police received a report of a woman driving her car while intoxicated. When police arrived, the woman was subjected to a roadside breath-test, which returned a positive reading. The woman was taken to Tuggeranong Police Station where she returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.254.

The woman was issued with an Immediate Suspension Notice and will be summonsed to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.

On Sunday, November 27, members from Woden Police Station were conducting random breath testing on Streeton Drive in Weston.

About 2.10am, a 30-year-old Stirling man was stopped and returned a positive reading on the side of the road. He was taken to Woden Police Station where he returned a reading of 0.178.

He was issued with an Immediate Suspension Notice and will face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.

A number of people were caught over the weekend for drink driving. Woden Police Station members issued four Immediate Suspension Notices and will be summonsing five people for drink driving from Saturday night alone after conducting 50 breath-tests.

ACT Policing is focusing on drink driving for the months of November, December and January as part of its road safety campaign.

Congrats to the woman blowing 0.254 … that’s well clattered, that is.

And in pouring rain….impressive.

ACT Policing is focusing on drink driving for the months of November, December and January as part of its road safety campaign…..

Given that they catch people on a really regular basis and given that we all agree that driving drunk is a dangerous thing to do then why don’t they focus their efforts every weekend and every day?

If we approach road safety on a risk basis and agree that drink driving is one of the riskiest actions there are – therefore a large portion of the ACT coppers road safety resources should be allocated to stop it happening. Or is that too logical?

Congrats to the woman blowing 0.254 … that’s well clattered, that is.
