Here in Ainslie we lost power for a few minutes around 1pm.

Now I’m hearing Dickson was hit too.

Anyone else?

been trynig to mention it – LOL, but so far after 5 posts being eaten… bog it. We lost power in Symonston/Fyshwick from about 11ish – 12:45pm or so.
Appeared initially to be isolated to here, and was told it happens regularly… but may be connected. was told by ACTEWAGL that 2 out of 3 phases to the area were blown. Came back on the single phase for a bit – fairly reduced (sag) power though… lost some systems in the process across multiple buildings…

Yep, work was stuffed around a bit too. That reduced power was weird. The halogen lights in the office were at 50% of power and the fluros were out. Computers were working fine, for a bit, but no joy from the router. Then we eventually lost everything.

hmm, same. things are coming online again now – but still very annoyingly slow… was hilarious watching people going into the toilets with torches and stuff… 🙂

All clear from O’Connor. Everything was working as normal when I got home.

Jognboy, we lost power at 12.30, decided it wasn’t worth waiting and went to the pub instead.

No outage in my end of Ainslie (near the footy club).

Feel the Power of Canberra?

Good call…

Palmerston had a blackout on Monday.

Maybe ACTEW/AGL should spend less money on those ads that imply how good they are and actually just BE good!

I know, I know it completely defies logic and reason but it would be nice.

What this town needs is a power station.

I hear there’s a good spot near the tip…

It is extremely unlikely that it had anything to do with demand. I would bet good money that it was a transient fault tripping the circuit breaker on a single feeder out of Civic East zone sub, with the power restored when the breaker was reset minutes later. The Actew network isn’t running at anything like capacity – if there’s demand issues it will be widespread across NSW/ACT/VIC.

Every year there’ll be more air conditioners, and every year this’ll be a problem if ACTEW fail to predict the increased demand.

Hmmmm, brownies in Ainslie. I thought that was reserved for Greenies.

Maybe it’s the Brownouts, due to too many air conditioners?

Living up the power in O’Connor

Still going strong in Campbell.
