TransACT have a better than average promo (so much so I’m going to give it a plug).

To demonstrate the Acer Android Tablets they’re bundling (as the owner of an Acer Android Tablet I can report it’s made me pretty happy, the web’s still prettier with Flash) they’ve got a huge working touchscreen emulating a tablet on City Walk.

It’s a superior Angry Birds experience!

Angry Birds is great in 27″ widescreen. Buy the PC version of all three apps for $0.99 each *Xmas Eve one day special* in the Angry Birds online store.

“…. as the owner of an Acer Android Tablet I can report it’s made me pretty happy, the web’s still prettier with Flash ….”

If you think the web is prettier with flash, youve never tried to load RA on an android device… the flash objects crash my phone upon loading.

Horses (and apps) for courses..

need to get yourself the Acer then 😉

*sigh*

Actually, you were wrong when you insinuated that I somehow claimed that Transact ‘copied’ this idea, when all I was (rather simply) stating that Transact were not the brains behind this promotion, but rather it was created by Android/Acer/whoever.

We’ve established there was already one in Melbourne, there’s other similar promotions that already exist, and there will be more to come.

And let’s leave it there. Because to further engage in any kind of ‘argument’ over such semantics would be sad and pointless.

So to sum up, you were wrong when you said “They’re all over Australia” (it’s only in Melbourne), and you were wrong when you said “Acer have the same thing on the Telstra building in the Melbourne CBD”.

Not a good track record, maybe you are also wrong about where the concept originated??

Transact didn’t come up with this.

They’re all over Australia.

The only other one I have heard about is in Melbourne which was launched 2 weeks ago. This one here in Canberra has been around for a week. So by your theory, transact saw the idea and copied it from scratch in a week? yeah, they couldn’t have thought of the idea independently.

Please tell me you’re not that dim?

My point was that it’s not a Transact concept.

Yes, Acer have the same thing on the Telstra building in the Melbourne CBD.

No need to get personal.

Sorry but I really have to clarify, its not an Acer promo in Melbourne, its an Android promotion. Telstra set up Androidland with the help of Google and a few non-Acer manufacturers Source: Official Google Australia Blog .Here’s a quote from that page in case you’re too lazy to click and open it:

“Designed by Telstra in collaboration with Google and handset makers Samsung, HTC, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and LG”

So Acer’s been shopping their latest advertisement around. No conspiracy there.

Pity they didn’t bundle with the Galaxy Tab now that they’re “available”. But if you’re was serious about getting a tablet, hold on, as the next generation tablets are coming out. Check out the Asus Transformer Prime!! This will continue in Q1 2012 including the rumoured iPad 3 for the iOS fans. So I’d be waiting to see all of what’s on offer before committing to anything.

iPad 3 in March, 2012. Yay!

a crowd attracts a crowd

Haven’t noticed this yet but will be sure to check it out next time I’m in Civic. Great marketing campaign!

Oh yay! First day of school holidays tomorrow and this will be a great treat for my small person!

And then proceeded to dance to the theme tune for about two minutes.

OT but I am seriously loving the theme tune for this year’s Angry Birds Seasons update!!

OH M GOD, IT’S AMAZING! I stumbled across it on Monday night… And then proceeded to dance to the theme tune for about two minutes.
