Eight people including five children have been taken to hospital following a two car accident at Wanniassa this afternoon.

The ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Fire & Rescue were called to the corner of Drakeford Drive and Tavner street just after 12:30pm.

Firefighters had to cut one patient out of each car who were both trapped by confinement.

Four intensive care ambulance crews treated and stabilised a total of eight patients on scene before transporting them all to The Canberra Hospital in stable conditions.

The patients ranged in aged from 5 to 50.

eight people to hospital and all you care about is the sentence structure….what small lives

Crikey no, it’s not just sentence structure we care about! There’s grammar and spelling too.

Capital E on “Eight” and a capital W on “What”, please. Three full stops and no capitalisation? Criminal.

If you can’t get the little things right, what hope is there for the big things in life?

Me too, it breaks my heart to see poor little those “of” being so badly missused.

Is there a corollary of Poe’s Law that refers to jokes being mistaken for political statements?

Both much better than being trapped by a crazed mining magnate!

What about being trapped by a mob of rancid unionists? Which is worse?

Trapped by confinement hey?

Better than being trapped by a crazed mining magnate I suppose.

Trapped by confinement – you can’t get out of the vehicle due to the damage as opposed to trapped by compression where parts of the vehicle are pinning/penetrating your body.

Both much better than being trapped by a crazed mining magnate!

Must have been a day for it. About 5pm there was a nasty smash on Parkes way going west. Just before the commonwealth ave bridge overpass.

The white car was totalled from the front smashing into this fourwheel drive.

Poor things, hope they make a full fast recovery.

At least they could of added an apostrophe.

Or has the Ozzie habit of shortening words struck again.

“…would have…” “..could have…”

Why do you care?

Do you write in and complain to the Canberra Times every time there is a typo, or News.com.au?

While we are correcting grammar “Could of” should be “could have”.

Could’ve does not mean could of. Another great Aussie habit strikes again.
