If you checked out the snow cams at Perisher today the snow had that reddy brownish tinge to it that I have on my car.

Sounds a bit like the original ‘Dog on the Tuckerbox’ poem/song which does not include ‘the dog sat on the tuckerbox’, but (true) reveals that the dog sh a t in the tuckerbox.

and wouldn’t the kiddies love it if they could sing the real version?

and the brown shower was even worse this morning – found that a blanket that we washed and hung out yesterday wasn’t purple, it was a lighter shade of dirt.

Bill Bryson is indeed wise…

Ah ha! Wondered if anyone would pick that 😉

And just for giggles, here’s Mr Bryson’s contribution:

Forgetting that spoons stir hot liquids much better
The swagman immersed his tool in his tea
And he sighed as he spied his old willy boiling
Now I can’t b[censored]r you, so will you b[censored]r me?

(try singing it – I dare ya!)

I guess all those people that were waiting for an hour or so to wash their cars at the Belco car lovers last week will all be there again this week???

Bill Bryson is indeed wise…

Much wiser than I, who washed my car this morning. In my defence, it was sunny…

A wise man once said that, in order to make “Waltzing Matilda” just that little more interesting, try replacing the word “billy” with “willy” …

Hilarity ensues 😉

It’s the Jolly Swagmen you have to steer clear of – they are nasty bastards!

not all swaggies, just ones called ‘juan’

or andy.

‘juan’s a jolly swagman…’

but then, confusingly, ‘andy sang, andy watched, as he waited…’

c’mon banjo, which is it??

and when I left to come home, the sky was brown. down the parkway, and the windscreen was brown 3 or 4 times. first time I can say I saw a brown shower and it wasn’t offensive.

Rained a bit out Fyshwick way a few hours ago. But checking the radar now it looks like there’s some action out at Tumut. This storm will reach us without doubt…

…I polished my car on the weekend.

So it’s your fault!

Granny 5:20 pm 22 Sep 08

I expect it depends on the Jolly Swagmen.

More than happy to see the rain. Shovelled 8 metres of vege mix soil improver all over the block (corner block!) Saturday. Hell of a lot of it was blowing away Saturday arvo…

“then you really know what is weather or not…”

Then you really know whether the weather is weather or whether it is not…?
