Bill Stefaniak hates happy hour

Sadly it didn’t make their pathetic website but today’s Canberra Times has an outburst by Bill Stefaniak complaining that Civic is awash in cheap alcohol and urine. He blames the practice of happy hour and other cheap drink promotions.

Presumably Bill is OK with expensive alcohol, the sort he and his friends can afford.

Personally I love happy hours.

Once again Bill Stefaniak is proposing illiberal statist solutions in an attempt to impose his vision on the youth of Canberra and anyone else who gets caught up in his net. Yet another reason not to vote for him.

What next Bill? Are you going to drown some kittens for the TV cameras?

If people are acting anti-socially let’s have some enforcement of existing laws, but leave happy hour alone!

Bill should promoting cheap piss, not knocking it ffs!

And kittens should be drowned so they can’t become cats – live telecast would be good

what a complete dickhead…. perhaps if he doesn’t like drunken behaviour try to do something on the education side…. knock kids issues on the head before they become idiot drunks.

well write your own story on what interests you for chrissakes.

this policy position has the potential to make my life less pleasant, the rest is less significant in the bigger scheme of things IMHO.

Johnboy,
Read this item with interest, but am puzzled that a number of other CT items did not also attract your attention.
For example, there are items regarding saving schools (P1), Jindalee Nursing Home killing a few inmates (P3), locally renowned commentator Michael Fosters passing(P4), the local Liberals claiming the seat of Fraser is winnable (P4), Corbell again worming out from a development proposal (P4), water recycling on page 8, before arriving at the item you have flagged.
I have no interest in any political party, more a passion for bagging the incompetent wretches who hold the power and the pursestrings, and generally make our lives more dificult than they need to be. Sure, Stefaniak is no angel, but there are a whole range of incompetents out there who perhaps need a gentle tug.

shauno, spot on there mate.

Can we please elect a party that doesn’t want to control our lives. Liberal Democrats maybe???

While were at it I reckon there would be a few jobs going for Steve Pratt in Turkmenistan. Its a country were Steve would feel at home in and I’m sure he has based his vision of Canberra on.

In the 80s, I had my car serviced at a place in Fyshwick. The courtesy van was loaded and we were ready to be taken to work, but they muttered that htey had to wait “for a pollie”. Who turned out to be Stefaniak, all big and noisy and blokey (you the type, who want to out-bloke the mechanics, who by Definition are Real Blokes).

That afternoon when I came to get my car, there was Stefaniak handing over a slab of beer. Carleton I think it was. And it wasn’t crownies. i guess that’s why the waited the courtesy van for him.
