AndyM has sent in a bunch of pictures taken on Petrie Plaza on Saturday night with this note:

Saturday night saw me out looking for the firemonkey twirlers, but I guess their own fire wasn’t enough to keep them warm. Disappointed, I walked back along Petrie Plaza and spotted without much effort, a bin readily ablaze.

Well, better than nothing…

After a bystanders half hearted effort with what looked like a Dry Chemical Powder extinguisher, The Fire Brigade arrived and liberally doused it.

Job done.

Here’s the full slideshow:

UPDATE: And in quick work the bin was being removed this morning when we checked on it.

How many workers does it take to remove a bin?

Five.

One to sweep and four to stand around posing for the camera.

Not funny…

I’m sorry did you just imply that firetwirlers decided to engage in mindless destruction of civic property?
Because if so then we just wont come out anymore.

Please please promise you won’t use that most overused and annoying Americanism
“bunch of”
