Territory and Municipal Services are warning that due to Thursday’s city enveloping burn on Black Mountain they need the public to stay away from the trees that are yet to fall over:

Territory and Municipal Services wishes to advise the public that the north-west corner of Black Mountain is closed adjacent to Belconnen Way and Gungahlin Drive until Tuesday 10 April 2012.

Whilst the controlled burn has been completed successfully, light winds may cause some trees to topple over.

There is still smoke in the area associated with the burn. Mountain bikers and other members of the public are advised to avoid the affected area until it has been reopened on Tuesday 10 April 2012.
