blossoms and bee

The Kelpie of Few Accomplishments and I were a little surprised on our morning constitutional today. Not only were the early blooming daffodils and crocuses out in bloom, but there were bees in the tree blossom! (pictured)

Sure it still feels like midwinter, but the signs of life are coming back.

Don’t get too carried away, this picture shows the “Winter Flowering Honeysuckle”, they have flowers on them all winter. Mine begin flowering in June and last till November. Smell devine too.

But to see so many bees is great – they have not had much to feed on for the past few years. The price of honey might come down as a consequence.

We’ve had flies and bees since last spring down C-Town way.

Not sure how they are surviving outside, even I find some of the mornings brutally cold.

We had a lot of flies in June, it’s too damp grounded and cold constant around this month here for them. As a result my decidious trees are still bare branches.

But it’s lovely to see some out, and it’s even more lovely to see a man and his (gorgeous I may add) dog appreciating the blooms.

We’ve had flies in the house all throughout winter. Not stacks – just the odd one or two – but they’ve been there. I can’t remember seeing flies in July before.

I’ve seen flowers out and bees buzzing continuously since Autumn, wondered when they would realise it’s freezing!

The Cootamundra wattle is beginning to flower already. That means spring is on the way.

I swear I spotted a cherry blossom in bloom on my way to work.
