My new film “Blue Angels: a quarky little film about Trust, Sex and String Theory” will be shot by Strange Charm Productions in Canberra in late April 2006.

We need to raise funds to cover some film equipment costs and so we have put together two fundraising events at the Holy Grail, Civic:

Film Trivia Night Party on Saturday 4 March. Attached is a flier. Grab a bunch of 4 – 8 friends, dress as your favourite film star and join us for a night of prizes, guest performances and dancing. The quiz starts at 7.30pm sharp – meals and snacks are available from the kitchen. Then dance on to the electro grooves of DJ Benji Apfel. $10 admission.

A Dance Party on Saturday 8 April (details soon). This party will be part of the film.

Yes Blamemonkey. Dance party will be held at Holy Grail. We’ll be able to get some interesting angles filming from the upper level. I’ll post more details soon.

Curious people demand to know! is the dance party going to be at holy Grail too??

Come on kids forget Skyfire, the Mardi Gras come and show support for local flim and my boss 🙂

The story is about a knotty relationship between a physics student and a med student. This film is probably too adventurous for Government funding. There’s a drug reference and two foxy Blue Angels. Anyone who is interested in being an extra could come to the Film Trivia night at Holy Grail on 4 March and talk to the Director or Producer. Also part of the film takes place at a night club. To be in it, come to the Dance Party also at Holy Grail on 8 April.

It pulls the chicks like a mad thing, AD.

mmm string theory

Quarky? Does that relate to quantum theory?

The Holy Grail is a great supporter of filmmaking in the ACT.

This thursday coming (2 March)… and every first Thrusday of the month from 8pm, the Holy Grail in Civic hosts an evening of Canberra Shorts- short films courtesy of SNOWYfest Thredbo and a film trivia competition. Hosted by the guy from the Magnet Mart ads, entry is free and there are giveaways of movie magazines, double passes to Electric Shadows, double passes to Thredbo Jazz festival, and BEER!!!!

Pretty sweet and unique way to go be arty and get maggot at the same time!

Nice to see some film makers actually trying to raise their own funds rather than just begging for handouts. On a Off Topic note has ScreenAct ever done anything useful in this town? http://www.screenact.act.gov.au/index.html
If their web site is anything to go by I can see a worthwhile target for Stanhope’s funding cuts
