blue topography lines?

i have noticed the new blue perspex barriers over the road to yarralumla across adelaide avenue (or whatever it’s called by then) and understand their 800k cost was met by the nca – but does anyone know the significance of the design thereon?

it looks like topography marks from a map [what are those lines called again?]; if so, is this a map of the immediate area or somewhere else (and if the latter, the significance to this site?) – or is it something else entirely?

is it art?

Pretty they may be but there is a bit of an issue with them.

Depending on the time of day, the direction you approach them, and the position of the sun in the sky you get a concentrated burst of glare straight back in your eyes.

Coming from the North it hits you in the morning and from the South in the arvo.

This is one time I’d suggest that, while not so pretty, chicken wire might have been a better solution

You also cant see any bikes coming while you are on the bridge. There is a slight curve of the path at each end & it is blind as you approach it. I like it other than that, its pretty.

It’s a map to buried Reptoid treasure.

I saw this from a bit of a distance the other day.

I thought the bridge was covered in some temporary tarps as part of some construction work?

I thought it looked like patterns on a weather radar.

I was wondering what part of the map the contour lines represented. I think it’s interesting – certainly better than the usual chicken wire, though I’m not so sure about the blue.

Was waiting for someone to bring this up – why the heck does it have to be blue?

Deakin gets pretty pretty colours.

Curtin got glorified chicken wire last year.

At least we have both kinds of music..

Contour lines.
