BMX madness

This is a step up from the usual “kids hurting themselves” bmx videos.

“Cassomaddogga” has put this one on Youtube with the following note:

this is a video i made with some of the worlds best riders like cam white and corey bohan in places like beenleigh canberra and the gold coast music includes 3seven7

Well worth a watch, anyone want to hazard a guess as to the Canberra locales?

Warning: Apparently if you’re of a peculiarly sensitive disposition some of the lyrics in the music might upset you. So turn the volume down if it’s going to be a problem for you.

Pretty impressive stuff. I thought it had some nice artistic shots for a BMX video too. Apart from the language, which didn’t offend me at all, the music was great and set a nice mood throughout.

s-s-a, The skate park around 6:00 is Gungahlin not Weston, very similar parks though.

Doctor Evel is right, Cam White is a freestyle BMX pro athlete who lives most of the year in the USA where he competes against the best riders in the world. Last year he won the prestigous five event ‘AST Dew Tour’ http://www.allisports.com .

For the past 3 years when he has been at home during the off season Cam has put back into the sport by staging a charity event at Wamboin. The event attracts international media attention, and this year raised over $16,000 for the Children’s Hospital Foundation. Some of Cam’s jumps are featured in this clip.

I know that Cam is a staunch advocate for the wearing of helmets and takes every opportunity to encourage young riders to wear proper safety equipment – for an example of what can go wrong check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3OQndGPrmw ).

VG, this disclaimer was put there after my original post, not before. It might pay to check your facts before you start insulting people.

Does anyone know the title of a mtb trials video that was made around the Geelong beaches area about 5-8y ago? We had a copy and lent it to someone (I’ve forgotten who) and it would be easier to hunt down if I knew what it was called…

> For the last 3 or so years he has hosted a dirt jumping comp on his property to raise money for charities like the Childrens Hospital Foundation.

I took my BMX mad 11yo out to that this year….fantastic day/evening. Well setup & run.

Who the hell is listening to the lyrics?! That was some awesome riding on display there, and slick video skills too. Nice.

Kramer, not sure about some of the other riders, but I think you will find that Cam White is a fully Pro rider, sponsored by Mongoose.

From memory he won the AST Dew Tour last year, one of the biggest action sports tours in the world. When he’s not in the US, he lives out at Wamboin where he has built a huge set of dirt jumps. For the last 3 or so years he has hosted a dirt jumping comp on his property to raise money for charities like the Childrens Hospital Foundation.

s-s-a : Look up “New World Disorder” on You Tube. Plenty of guys going bigger gaps and drops on MTBs. (Not saying these guys aren’t impressive for ameteur, or semi-pro riders)

The skate park around 6:00 is Weston is it not?

Have seen better freestyle footage and action, altho the @#$@#$ing huge setup at the end is tres impressive! These guys are nuts.

The only thing I find offensive is that half the riders seem to be missing their hemlets. [helmet nazi mode off] The riding is pretty good, although I could barely spot any Canberra scenes – Tuggers Skate Park being the only one for me.

I can’t be blasphemous? bloody hell.

Seriously though, you’d better not be stopping our rights to use the arguments of commonsense and logic if something religious comes up. I know the UN is trying that …

Anyway, that’s off topic.

Let’s all watch some kids try to hurt themselves! 😀

rephlex,

I did read the T&C in it’s entirety, hence my post. Like you pointed out, I do have complete control over my computer, which is why I chose not to watch the rest of the video.

As for “complaining”, I was merely asking a question about the T&C to see how robust it is. Obviously, it’s get’s a little shaky when you start posting video.

Thanks anyway.

How did the soundtrack on this clip pass section 1.4.4 of the Riot Act terms and conditions of use?

Obscenity. BMX skills are great, but the soundtrack has a lot of profanity in it.

Dry your eyes princess. And the language was outlined in the stories front page. To read that and then watch the clip and complain about the language is plain idiotic

Nice! If only I could ride bike like that.

Brindabella – it passed because if you read the T&C in their entirety – you would see in 1.4, that “The-RiotACT.com will determine, at its discretion, whether to edit, publish (or remove from a site) any of your content. In particular, material if The-RiotACT.com consider to be”

and then in 1.4.4

“abusive or offensive, including obscenity, blasphemy and racial vilification”

Like most, I do not find swearing too obscene, at when used in music, even less so. Futhermore, the music is not the feature of this video, it’s the footage. I would assume that the RiotAct editors thought this way to, if they actually heard the offensive material.

So firstly, understand the T&Cs and secondly, you don’t have to watch this, you have complete control over your computer, so don’t complain.

ahh bugger….i cant watch youtube links at work…..wanna get home so i can have a listen now.
