Boffo bingle at North Ainslie Primary

johnboy 6 November 2008 31

[First filed: November 05, 2008 @ 10:09]

Thanks to Gungahlin Al for the tip.

In the small hours of the morning (one resident reckons 3.30am) someone managed to get the Majura-Davenport roundabout very badly wrong.

It looks like the car clipped a tree on the wrong side and rolled before coming to rest in the school’s fence.

UPDATED: Apparently a 25yr old from Goulburn was pulled from the passenger seat and blew over for DUI. There’s a media release from the police somewhere, but not online.

Did they get a breath test?? Melbourne Cup – write off car at 3:30am.. Coincidence??

The impression I’d got was that the driver didn’t hang around to talk to the authorities.

But I’m happy to be corrected on that.

Normally I’d agree V8, but them be NSW Licence Plates.

Sniff, Sniff….I’m smelling stolen vehicle.

I reckon the tree will need a few more hits on the other side before it is fully ringbarked.

If it is stolen, then they left $5 on the dash for the damage.

Even if it wasn’t stolen, how much you want to bet that the owner tells the police it was? Hope they are OK, that looks like a pretty decent crash to wander away from without getting at least a checkup.

What are they worried about, it’ll buff out…

Alleged drink driver almost three times over limit

A 25-year-old Goulburn man will face a drink driving charge after the vehicle he was driving collided with a fence in Hackett earlier today (November 5).

About 4.40am, police conducting routine patrols found a grey Toyota Camry sedan with significant damage to the front end and the rear of the vehicle resting on a steel mesh fence at Hackett Primary School, Majura Avenue, Hackett.

The alleged driver returned a positive result to an initial roadside breath screening test and was conveyed to the City Police Station where he recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.135 grams of alcohol per 100mL of blood – almost three times over the 0.05 limit.

The man will be summonsed to face the ACT Magistrates Court on February 18, 2009.

Todd is only 22 lol

One way to total your car and not get an insurance payout. I can’t even see how he managed to do that, must have been going at speed and straight over the middle of the roundabout.

Someone forgot the Camry was an understeering, front wheel drive, point A to point B car….and nothing more.

Granny Granny 9:43 am 06 Nov 08

I want Loose Brown to write a story about The Camry That Wanted To Fly.

oh, come on. I have a camry. newer model than this one. maybe the fact that the driver was well over the limit had something to do with it?

imagine if that was an HSV commodore in the fence? car or driver?

p1 p1 10:21 am 06 Nov 08

I went to the Nullarbor and back (with five people and a trailer) in a camry like that, it actually went pretty well. There was some excitement when in the middle of nowhere on a giant clay pan, it decided to rain on us, but we slid through it. Wouldn’t have liked to be drunk though… not that there was really anything to hit though..
